Jetstar Japan appoints CEO
Tokyo, October 12, 2011

Miyuki Suzuki

JETSTAR Japan has appointed Miyuki Suzuki as CEO, effective December 1.

The announcement follows the fledgling low-cost carrier’s inaugural board meeting in Tokyo last Friday to discuss the progress of its targeted launch of domestic services by end-2012 (TTG Asia e-Daily, August 17).

Suzuki joins Jetstar Japan after five years at Japanese telecommunications and IT services company KVH, a Fidelity Investments subsidiary, where she was president and CEO, before becoming vice chairman and representative director.

Suzuki also previously served as CEO of Lexis Nexis Asia Pacific, as executive vice president of consumer business at Japan Telecom, and as managing director for Reuters South-east Asia.

According to Jetstar group CEO Bruce Buchanan, Jetstar Japan’s negotiations with a range of potential suppliers and business partners, including airports across Japan, are progressing smoothly.
