Thailand tempts India trade with cuisine promotion

THE TOURISM Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the Amazing Thailand, Amazing Food campaign in India, with exclusive offers and discounts for local travel and media partners.


The deals at three Thai cuisine restaurants include 30 per cent off at Lemon Grass in Mumbai; complimentary starter and dessert at Malaka Spice in Pune; and 30 per cent discount and a complimentary welcome drink at Isda Thai in Hyderabad.


The promotion runs till September 12.


TAT is planning to extend the campaign to other cities in the country.


India is among Thailand's top source markets, contributing 791,185 visitors in 2010, a 28 per cent increase over the year before. This year, 885,000 Indians are expected to visit Thailand, a number that will grow to one million by 2013.
