JCCâ??s Kurze retires
Mimi Hudoyo, reporting for TTGmice, Jakarta, March 15, 2011

FRIEDRICH Kurze, Jakarta Convention Center's (JCC) general manager for the past 17 years, has retired at the age of 60.

After living in Indonesia for 24 years, Kurze is relocating to Manila instead of Germany, where he is originally from.

"I can't live in Germany anymore, it's too cold for me," he told TTGmice during a special interview before he left Jakarta last weekend.

Prior to JCC, Kurze was in Bali developing the Bali International Convention Centre before Starwood took over management.

Kurze was also one of the driving forces behind MICE development in Indonesia, contributing to the formation of Jakarta Convention Bureau and Indonesia Congress and Convention Association.
