HILTON Hotels Indonesia in Jakarta and its sister properties in Makassar (South Sulawesi) and Bali are getting face lifts, and a new sister hotel will be born in Lombok next year.
Bali Hilton International and Patra Surabaya Hilton International have undergone renovation of rooms, and the 25-year-old Hilton Jakarta is to start an upgrading and renovation programme in February.
Jakarta Hilton International general manager, Mr Karel Schrivers, said: “We renovated the Garden Tower end of 2000, and we are going to refurbish the Lagoon Tower, and renovate the main tower rooms.” The hotel will also upgrade and renovate its 1200-member executive club.The whole renovation will cost between US$4 million and US$6 million.
Marannu City Hotel in Makassar (South Sulawesi), Hilton Indonesia's sister property within the Nugra Santana Group, is undergoing total renovations by year end.“We have converted it into a four star hotel, with 122 rooms. The owner has suggested the rest of the rooms be converted for long-stay guests,” Mr Schrivers said.The hotel is adding a new 450m2 ballroom which will seat up to 500.
The newly opened 18-hole golf course within the same group, Lombok Kosaido Golf Course, will offer accommodation in the vicinity. “The plan is to have chalets there. We are now in the planning stage to start building in 2003.”
